I am a mac user, however, it is inconceivable that I can afford everything that I desire. Therefore, I choose to look for alternatives, freeware or open source (donations) applications. Here is a list I have compiled of 12 interesting, but not well known mac freeware applications.

BLACKJACK INTERNATIONAL - About Blackjack International:
In Blackjack International 2, the players are countries and the countries bet with their own goods. South Africa sits down and whips out a bag of diamonds. The UK comes stacked with tea kettles, Cuba brings its cigar box, and the USA has a seemingly endless supply of cheeseburgers. Also included are Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, South Korea, and Spain. Blackjack International 2 is the same comprehensive blackjack game as its predecessor. We've just spiced up the interface and added beautiful new graphics, sound effects, and options.

CABOS - About Cabos:
Cabos is Gnutella file sharing program based on LimeWire and Acquisition. It is free software. No spyware. No adware. Guaranteed. Cabos provides simple sidebar user interface, firewall to firewall transfers, proxy transfers, Universal Plug and Play, iTunes + iPod integration, "What's New?" searches, international searches, and more.

CLASSIC FTP - About Classic FTP:
Classic FTP is an easy to use ftp client that allows you to view, edit, upload, download and delete files from a remote server (website) or network for free. As its name suggests, Classic FTP has been specifically designed to look and feel like a typical ftp client. Whilst offering all the same features as other ftp clients, Classic FTP is perfect for both advanced and novice website administrators.

DESKTOP 2 LOGIN - About Desktop 2 Login:
Matches the Leopard Login Screen background image to whatever the current user’s Desktop picture is. This eliminates the visual transition from the login background to the user’s background.

DO IT - About Do It:
Do It is a small application to manage categorized to do lists. Each to do item can be linked with a file on your computer, a URL, such as the address of a website, or a contact from your address book. The linked item can be opened directly from the Do It window. To do items can also include notes, priorities and deadlines, which can be set as reminders in iCal.

LITEICON - About LiteIcon:
LiteIcon is a simple app which allows you to change your system icons easily. Simply drag an icon onto the one you want to change, click the Apply Changes button and restart the Finder to see the modifications. That's it.

INTEGRITY - About Integrity:
Website Broken Link Checker. If you've maintained a website for any length of time, you'll know that links very quickly become broken.

MEDIA SNAP - About Media Snap:
Media Snap lets you easily search, download and save videos from YouTube. You can save your downloaded YouTube videos as Quicktime movies or as mp3 (audio only) and put it on your iPod. Media Snap requires OS X 10.5.

OTIS - About Otis:
Otis is a puzzle game for Mac OS X based on a classic game popularly known as Same Game, Chain Shot, or JawBreaker.
The object is to remove all the blocks from the board by clicking on groups of two or more blocks with the same color. Clear as many blocks at once as possible to score higher, but only through careful maneuvering can you clear the entire board.




SWAPMYDOCK - About SwapMyDock:
"SwapMyDock" is a simple to use drag and drop application that allows you to easily change Leopards dock graphics. SwapMyDock will back up your original dock images and allow you to restore them at any time. There are a bunch of cool docks available for free at dockulicious.com, leoparddocks.net and leoparddocks.com so download a copy of SwapMyDock and go grab yourself a cool new dock.

TUBETV - About TubeTV:
TubeTV is a freeware program for Mac OS X Tiger, Leopard, and above which enables you to search for, save, and convert YouTube and many other flash videos to a format suitable for playback on your favorite devices.
